The Wedding

Our wedding will be held December 30, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Geneseo, Illinois. This is the church that Kim was baptized in, confirmed in, and where she continues to be a member today.

Below are the people who will play a part in our wedding.
 

Chris Gehling: best man, brother of groom
Chris is Nick's brother and best friend. He became an important part of the couple's relationship early on and continues to be amazing in every way. He is truly a great person who will always be our best man.

Sara Hobson: matron of honor, sister of groom
Sara is Nick's sister and has been a big  and wonderful part of Kim's life the last few years. Sara was Kim's roommate in Madrid and she was blessed to be a part of her wedding last April. Sara is a wonderful friend, who is always ready to help - and have a lot of fun in the process. We are thrilled to have her as our matron of honor.

Jeff Nelson: groomsman, brother of bride
Jeff is Kim's big brother and she has always looked up to him in every way. He has set an amazing example for her and is always ready to help out in any way he can. Jeff will be a great part of our wedding party and we are really looking forward to his upcoming wedding too!

Christine Smith: bridesmaid, future sister-in-law of bride
Christine is Jeff's fiancé and we are so excited to soon be related to her! She is possibly the sweetest person on earth and is always very positive about everything. We are thrilled to have her in the wedding!

Matt Brotherson: groomsman, friend of the groom
Matt is one of Nick's best friends that he has known since kindergarten. Needless to say that they have been through a lot of life experiences together! Matt is an awesome guy and we are honored to have him as a groomsman.

Gretchen Ruebner, bridesmaid, friend of the bride
Gretchen is Kim's best friend from Iowa State. She has moved clear out to Rhode Island now, but they remain as close as ever. Gretch is hilarious and is so much fun to be around. We can't wait to have her in the wedding party!

Jaime Steinkamp, groomsman, friend of the groom
Jaime is one of Nick's best friends that he has known almost forever. Jaime was Nick's roommate in Bondurant when Nick and Kim met, so he was a fun part of their relationship early on. Jaime is always a fun person to be around and will be a super groomsman!

Stacie Schafer, bridesmaid, friend of the bride
Stacie is Kim's dear friend in Des Moines. She works with Kim at the National Pork Board and is her main source of entertainment on a daily basis. Stacie is an extremely fun, generous, caring individual, and she will make an amazing bridesmaid.

Joanne Gallagher: personal attendant, aunt of the bride
Joanne is Kim's aunt and is the reason for her middle name. Kim has always looked up to Jo for her creative talents and how she always made things fun. She is the perfect choice for personal attendant and we are very excited to have her!

Tom Nelson: usher, uncle of the bride
Tom is Kim's uncle and has been an unbelievable one. Tom has been a part of every holiday and birthday and has always been fun to be around. We are truly blessed to have him in the wedding party.

Josh Hobson: usher, brother-in-law of the groom
Josh is soon to be related to us both and we couldn't pick a better guy! He recently married Nick's little sister Sara and we look forward to a lot of fun times in the future with him.

Greg & Barb Nelson: parents of the bride
These are the great parents of Kim. They really couldn't be better and are making this the wedding of my dreams.

Dave & Eileen Gehling: parents of the groom
These are the great parents of Nick. They are wonderful people and have been so helpful and supportive of us in many different ways.

Virgil & Lois Nelson: grandparents of the bride
Gramma and Virgil are the parents of Greg and grandparents to Kim. They have always been a special part of her life and she is so excited to have them be in their wedding.

Derryl & Maribell Trost: grandparents of the bride
Grandma and Grandpa are the parents of Barb and grandparents to Kim. They have always been a special part of her life and it is wonderful to have them in the wedding.

Neoma Ludwig: grandmother of the groom
Neoma is mother to Eileen and grandmother to Nick. She is an amazing woman who has been with Nick on every special occasion, and has always been dear to him. We are thrilled to have her in the wedding.

Katherine Menendez: guest book attendant, friend of the bride
Katherine has been a special friend of Kim's since she was very small. Kim babysat Katherine in her younger years, spent many hours together playing basketball, and now we have watched her grow into a beautiful, intelligent young woman.

Sarah Otte: scripture reader, friend of the bride
Sarah was Kim's roommate when she moved down to Des Moines. She was so much more than a roommate and they often reminisce about the great times they had at the Fountains apartment. Sarah helps Kim with everything and we love that she has agreed to be a part of the wedding!

Linda Morrison: videographer, friend of the bride
Linda has an amazing talent with anything on the computer and will be taking care of videotaping the ceremony as well as the highlights of the reception. We are blessed to have her share her talents at our wedding.

Bill & Dee Menendez: hosts of the reception, family friends of the bride
Bill and Dee hired Kim for many years as their babysitter. They became much more than employers and have become important people in her life. We are thrilled to have them running the show at our reception.

Bret Agard: dj, friend of the bride
Bret worked with Kim for three years at the National Pork Board. We look forward to having a great time with him at the reception!

Ryan Varner: photographer, friend of the couple
Ryan is extremely talented and has agreed to take our photos on our big day. We have known him since we started dating through friends and we are excited to have him playing an important role!

Chris Stahl, Dena Couquit, cake cutters, family friends of the bride
Chris and Dena will do a great job at cutting and serving the cake and we will also be lucky enough to hear Dena sing three songs during our reception.

Chris Ward, Michele Nelson, Judy Skelton, decorators, family friends of the bride
Chris, Michele, and Judy have been family friends of the Nelsons for many years. We are so excited to have their help in making the reception shine!
